Le Centre d’Art La Malmaison présente une exposition consacrée au photographe plasticien franco-allemand, Alfons Alt, un concept intitulé Alphonse Alt- Effondrement des certitudes.
Plasticien - photographe né en 1962, en Bavière, Alfons Alt vit et travaille aujourd’hui à la Friche de Marseille. Son travail associe différentes techniques de la photographie : une technique du début de la
photographie, la résinopigmentyte (technique photographique abordée par l’inventeur Louis-Alphonse Poitevin (1819-1882), qu’il fait évoluer au fil du temps en la nommant Altotype.
Ses oeuvres associent l’art pictural et la photographie. Un exercice qui lui permet de représenter sa perception du monde en associant le divin inhérent au geste pictural et le réel présent dans la photographie.
Alfons Alt utilise des techniques graphiques anciennes, emprunt effectué auprès de procédés propres aux arts plastiques (gravure, peinture).
Chacune des oeuvres sélectionnées dans le cadre de cette exposition constitue un support destiné à représenter une part de sa réflexion menée sur l’évolution et la place de l’homme dans un monde en pleine mutation. Il nous invite à découvrir son imaginaire, afin de nous amener à le confronter avec la réalité de notre quotidien. C’est vers une certaine pérennité que ses choix se portent.

Marcelle Cahn a été l’élève des plus grands : elle suit dès 1920 les cours de Maurice Denis, de Vuillard et de Valotton. Puis elle est l’élève d’Othon Friesz, avant que Léonce Rosenberg ne lui présente ses deux grands maîtres : Fernand Léger et Amédée Ozenfant en 1925-1926.
Les premières expositions auxquelles elle participe, dans l’entre-deux guerres, sont parmi les plus grandes de l’époque : « la Société Anonyme » de Marcel Duchamp et Catherine Dreier, « L’Art d’aujourd’hui » en 1925, le « Kunstsalon Wolfsberg » de Zurich en 1930, avec des oeuvres choisies par son aîné Jean Arp et surtout « Cercle et carré », exposition conçue et réalisée par Torrès Garcia et Michel Seuphor. Ce dernier dira plus tard à propos de ses collages qu’il « sont une sorte de théâtre sans rideaux, sans personnages, sans sujet même, et pourtant plein de surprise… Cela ne crie ni ne crisse ; la mesure, loin d’être abandonnée, est attestée dans le moindre détail. » Après une longue période d’isolement, Marcelle Cahn développe en effet à partir de 1953 une première série de collages et de photos-collages. Les collages-reliefs aboutissent au début des années soixante aux fameux 'spatiaux'...
Au-delà d’une oeuvre, il s’agit aussi de saluer une femme dont tous ceux qui l’ont connue vantent les qualités humaines, la rigueur intellectuelle et la générosité, même dans l’isolement de la fin de sa vie. Gottfried Honegger fait partie de ceux-là, qui venaient la voir dans la chambre-atelier, comme Aurelie Nemours, Henri Chopin, Sonia Delaunay et tant d’autres.L’exposition nous révèle le portrait d’une artiste singulière, à l’oeuvre peu connue, qui vécut dans la discrétion, tout en côtoyant les figures artistiques de son époque. Le propos de l’exposition s’appuie d’une part sur les oeuvres du Fonds National d’Art Contemporain en dépôt à l’Espace de l’Art Concret, et d’autre part sur de riches documents d’archives provenant de la galerie Denise René.
Des témoignages de ceux qui l’ont bien connus, comme Marie Luise Syring, Gottfried Honegger ou Imre Pan, jalonneront le parcours.
Une salle sera destinée à la projection du film 'Marcelle Cahn. Les clés du regard' réalisé, en 1976 par Pierre Gisling pour la Télévision Suisse Romande. Ce film documentaire unique se déroule dans la chambre-atelier de l’artiste qu’elle occupait dans une maison de retraite de Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Considérant que l’architecture doit se faire avant tout pour les autres, Yona Friedman a réalisé de nombreuses propositions, qu’il a soumises à des concours ou publiées dans de nombreux ouvrages. Mais jamais le fonds de maquettes et de dessins de son fabuleux appartement-atelier - unique, une sorte de merzbau du XXIème siècle, rempli de dessins, montages, assemblages, fax et objets populaires, qui reflète la richesse de sa pensée...- qu’il habite depuis 1968 et dans lequel il accumule toutes ses sources d’inspiration, n’a été montré dans son ensemble, malgré de nombreuses participations à des expositions internationales (Documenta 11 à Kassel, Biennale de Venise, MoMA de New York,…).
L’exposition permettra de montrer pour la première fois ce corpus, acquis par le Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP - ministère de la Culture et de la Communication) en 2007. Yona Friedman tient à intervenir lui-même dans l’espace et dans la disposition de ce fonds, proposant dans le Château de Mouans-Sartoux une maquette inédite à l’échelle 1 pour un « musée d’architecture ».
Seront ainsi réunies une soixantaine de maquettes, réalisées entre 1959 et 2007, enrichies de films d’animations, dessins, cartes postales, manuels… Outre cet ensemble, seront aussi montrés des dessins inédits appartenant à des collections particulières en France ainsi que des éléments du décor de son premier appartement, rue Pasteur à Paris. En effet, pour cette exposition, l’accent sera mis sur la dimension décorative et figurative de son travail comme une sorte d’écho au Matisse de la chapelle du Rosaire ainsi que la volonté de montrer que théorie peut rimer avec langages populaires et accessibles à tous. Une salle blanche sera aussi dédiée aux graffiti, un langage que Friedman affectionne particulièrement pour sa dimension universelle. Le public pourra s’approprier cet espace entièrement tapissé de polystyrène.

Cette exposition met en espace diverses photographies offrant au passant, au visiteur ou à l’habitant, un autre regard sur des paysages et architectures qu’il a pour habitude de traverser, d’emprunter ou de frôler. On découvre, à travers ce parcours, une nouvelle vision du décor routinier ou du paysage touristique. On exclut la carte postale et l’on prête une attention particulière au commun, au déjà vu.
Réalisés entre 2005 et 2009 avec un appareil photo argentique et un numérique, au cours de déplacements professionnels et voyages, ces clichés apparaissent ici comme les traces d’un cheminement visuel. Chaque image témoigne de la beauté pas toujours soupçonnée que tout lieu peut révéler : Quand le régulier rejoint le singulier.

Né en 1965, Wim Delvoye vit et travaille à Gand. Artiste important de la scène artistique internationale, Wim Delvoye confronte l'histoire de l'art, la tradition flamande et l'industrie de manière souvent extravagante. De la cage de but de football incluse dans un vitrail au faux dallage de marbre réalisé avec du jambon, des nichoirs ornés d'accessoires sadomasochistes, aux cochons tatoués, l'inventivité de l'artiste et son goût pour la dérision ne connaissent aucune limite.
Au MAMAC, Wim Delvoye choisit de développer trois thématiques restituant sa démarche plastique : les tatouages porcins, les maquettes gothiques et un travail sur la torsion du Christ en croix. Cette exposition souhaite confronter l’œuvre graphique et sculpturale de cet artiste hors norme.
La boutique du Musée proposera également des objets dérivés de l’artiste.

Au Mamac, Laurence Aëgerter présente une série de portraits photographiques de spectateurs vus de dos contemplant les chefs-d’œuvre du musée du Louvre : Ingres, Watteau, Chardin, De La Tour…
Ces portraits photographiques, produits avec l’aide de l’Institut Néerlandais, convoquent un fond culturel partagé (une œuvre d’art célèbre) et la sphère intime de la contemplation. Ce nouveau personnage, par la prise de vue frontale, est projeté dans l’espace pictural.
L’œuvre d’art est parasitée par sa présence. Cachant une partie du tableau, cet intrus en propose une nouvelle lecture. Son attitude, sa coiffure et sa tenue vestimentaire, entrent en résonance avec ce qui se joue dans le tableau détourné. Des relations­ formelles et colorées se créent.

Village, salle Saint-Esprit 14 h-18 h (+10 h-13 h les W.E. / Fermé le lundi), VALBONNE-SOPHIA-ANTIPOLIS
A l’occasion de l’approche du printemps et de la fête de la femme le 8 mars 2010, le groupe de femmes artistes Nan’art va investir la Salle Saint-Esprit de Valbonne avec une nouvelle exposition, du 22 février au 14 mars 2010.
Après une installation remarquée de leurs œuvres à Tourrettes-sur-Loup à l’automne 2009, les cinq artistes récidivent. La plasticienne Valérie Van Haelen, les peintres Marie-Claude Ras-Allard, Katerine Hartmann et Caterina Murgia, l’artiste « écologique » Nadège Pagès accompagnées par Olivia Blanquet pour l’installation sonore, vont investir les lieux d’une façon pour le moins surprenante avec ce « Nanart en Flirt » façon « Jardin des délices » à butiner de fleur en fleur….
Ainsi que l’explique Valérie Van Haelen, qui orchestre le dispositif, la Salle Saint Esprit de Valbonne, sera revisitée par une scénographie, autour du thème du jardin printanier en introduisant la nature à l’intérieur de son espace clos.
Le lieu de l’exposition sera mis en scène, et jouera en permanence de l’effet de surprise avec le public.
En effet, transformé tour à tour en espace interieur/extérieur, ou en espace ouvert/fermé, il sensibilisera le regard par des dispositifs de présentation déroutants.
Chaque parcelle de cet espace sera investie par le jardin secret d’une des artistes en offrant un cheminement possible entre peintures, sculptures, photos et installations.
Le cœur du dispositif proposera un parcours interactif sonore au public, intitulé « Le Jardin des délices ».

L’oeuvre à laquelle l’artiste canadien Eric Cameron travaille depuis plus de quarante ans se compose de quelques dizaines de pièces seulement. Cette relative rareté des objets produits trouve, à contrario, dans la temporalité illimitée leur prolongement infini. Ainsi, les éléments
qu’Eric Cameron a choisis - tous issus de l’univers quotidien - font l’objet de recouvrements réguliers et systématiques de matière. Chaussure, ressort, boîte d’allumettes, livres, sachet de sucre, laitue… sont ainsi, jour après jour, enduits de gesso, cet apprêt blanc que les artistes
peintres utilisent pour préparer le fond de leur toile. Les centaines voire les milliers de couches accumulées sur chaque objet amènent à la transformation progressive mais radicale de ce dernier, jusqu’à souvent le rendre méconnaissable. Ce geste, revendiqué comme celui d’un peintre, débouche, dans sa grande simplicité, sur des propositions d’une profondeur exemplaire. L’objet est comme englouti dans la matière blanche et perd de ce fait son identité, rejouant ainsi le passage
de la figuration à l’abstraction. De plus, le temps, en quelque sorte consigné dans ses multiples épaisseurs, se matérialise et peut être appréhendé sous l’aspect de scapulaires blancs aux formes très diverses et très subtiles. A travers ce programme défini et résolument mis en pratique depuis 1979, Eric Cameron nous invite à approfondir notre réflexion et, tels les artistes des memento mori, nous rappelle l’inexorabilité du temps qui passe et celle de la finitude qui lui est attachée.
